As Bird Hunts Wind Down, Fishing Ramps Up

Meadow Brook Game Farm is a popular destination for bird hunting, but we also offer great opportunities for fishing at our on-site lake. As bird hunts wind down for the season, our fishing season is just ramping up, so now’s the time to check your fishing gear and get ready for some time at our lake.

Fishing is a great pastime but, as any experienced angler knows, popular spots often end up being over-fished long before the season has ended. Fortunately, that is not a problem at Meadow Brook Game Farm. Our carefully managed lake guarantees that you will have plenty of opportunities for fishing action.

Our 10-acre lake is stocked with farm-raised, channel catfish that typically weigh between 2 and 8 pounds. The catfish are restocked every week to be sure that there are plenty of fish for anglers to catch. You will also find bass, crappy, bluegill and shell cracker in the lake.

Fishing season generally runs from April until September, weather permitting. The lake is open for fishing every day from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. A day of fishing at our stocked lake is an affordable and enjoyable outing, too, with fees running only $15 per person which covers up to eight hours or fishing or the catch of five catfish, bass or crappy – whichever comes first – with no limit on shell cracker and bluegill.

There is also no need to make a fishing trip at Meadow Brook Game Farm a solitary outing – that is, unless you want to. We welcome church groups and other organizations to the farm for fishing and picnic outings. This is a great way to spend the day with a group relaxing around the lake and reeling in fish. Contact us to discuss your group and make arrangements.
